Oy. I am crazy with goals.

#1. November is National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo, pronounced Na-No-Ree-Mo). I have been working on a particular novel for a few months now, but I am going to pause this work in progress to start and complete a new idea in the month of November. The goal is 50,000 words in one month and a completed idea . . . not to say it will be completely finished with editing and changes and all that. Anyways, I am excited about this one. I love to write and having an idea already makes me all the more motivated.

#2. Steven, unbeknownst to him, has inspired me to keep my house clean. He has been so faithful in cooking wonderful meals for Davie and I whenever he can. It makes us feel so special and loved as he does this service for us. I wanted to have something very specific that I could do for my family to make them feel special and loved. I am not a great cleaner, nor am I highly motivated to clean when I know it will be but moments before it is destroyed . . . but I believe making my husband feel special is way more motivating. So hopefully all this month I will keep my house clean, or at least picked up on the busiest of days.

#3. These two goals will hopefully lead to time being spent purposefully . . . something I have slackened in since I do not have a traditional full-time job anymore. The days do seem to flitter away and I have done seemingly nothing.

#4. I hope to also spend money more purposefully . . . or moreover NOT spend money. Christmas is coming and we are still wanting to have more cushion in our savings account in case of emergencies.

So there's that.

I can say, without a doubt, the person who has the biggest impact on me is my husband, Steven Charles. Please don't vomit. I will try to make this not too lovey-dovey, because really in this sense his impact on me has very little to do with romance. Steven Charles makes me a better version of myself . . . while still allowing me to be myself. He challenges me to think more deeply (and just more, haha). Because of this, I am a better wife, mother, teacher, nurse, sister, and daughter. I can say for sure that any good changes that I have made since college can be traced back to him. Don't get me wrong, sometimes he drives me insane (and vice versa), but I am so thankful I have someone like him urging us both to not settle for less.

My favorite super hero is Harry Potter . . . and of course his crew. They are, how you say, magical. They are flawed, average, and they have to rely on each other . . . just like us, except they are magic. I love the books, movies, games, everything. I am a nerd, yes.

Horseshoe Canyon Ranch near Jasper, Arkansas is one of my most favorite places to frequent . . . and we sure do frequent that place. It is only a 5 hour drive (round abouts). It has seemingly endless climbing opportunities all within hiking distance - which is absolutely necessary for my husband. Yet it is very family friendly for Davie and I. It's gorgeous with plenty to explore, yet there is cabins with the necessary comforts like . . . a bed. The cabins are actually quite homey. It is so beautiful there. It's also a great place to go with a group of friends and pretend like you have no other responsibilities except to hang out and have fun.

I have plenty of bad habits, and hardly a drop of will power to shake them - but the one I wish I had an ounce of control over is the habit of trying to start new habits. I am always cooking up something new I want to do in my head, whether it is a new workout routine, eating better, dressing differently, and I take it to the extreme. Now starting new good habits is not a fault . . . but I get pretty gungho. I usually spend money on this new habit, and then I don't follow through with it. So I guess it is two bad habits there.
