Horseshoe Canyon Ranch near Jasper, Arkansas is one of my most favorite places to frequent . . . and we sure do frequent that place. It is only a 5 hour drive (round abouts). It has seemingly endless climbing opportunities all within hiking distance - which is absolutely necessary for my husband. Yet it is very family friendly for Davie and I. It's gorgeous with plenty to explore, yet there is cabins with the necessary comforts like . . . a bed. The cabins are actually quite homey. It is so beautiful there. It's also a great place to go with a group of friends and pretend like you have no other responsibilities except to hang out and have fun.
